Monsoon Sunset

The monsoon rains arrived this week in Karachi and although so far there hasn't been a lot of rain the sunset clouds were spectacular with golds and spots of pinks and green.

Feathers

Feathers are really amazing when you look at them closely. the patterns on an individual feather, the way the vanes fit together so closely with the barbs - and just think how these light weight but strong feathers enable a bird to fly - an amazement in itself.

Sunrise

I love sunrise. Its cool, quiet and is never the same from one day to another. There could be a misty look to the surroundings. spectacular clouds and rays, or the sun might come blasting up into a hot day and a clear sky. These sunrise pictures are all taken in Karachi.

Yellow Flowers

These lovely little yellow flowers appeared on a climber on the garden wall. The plant spread over quite an area with the tendrils grasping on to the fence. Then the fruit appeared - bitter gourd "kerela".

Birds

I enjoy watching and listening to birds wherever I am. Here are a few shots of birds in Karachi. The red bulbul, the koel with its piercing early morning cry, and the hawk which circles the sky from dawn to dusk.
