Rainy Day

Beautiful day for a rainy day walk in Islamabad. Got completely soaked but had a great time. The rain poured all day. Monsoon rains at end of July.

Monsoon Sunset

The monsoon rains arrived this week in Karachi and although so far there hasn't been a lot of rain the sunset clouds were spectacular with golds and spots of pinks and green.

Desert Plants

Hardy desert plants survive in the most unlikely environment of sand and heat. The plants tend to be prickly and hold whatever moisture they can gather. These photos are from Hingol National Park in Pakistan.

Lilies - France

Mouans-Sartoux is a small town 30 minutes inland from Cannes, France. On the grounds of the old chateaux is a lily pond where the early morning sun plus a rain shower brought out some lovely colors and

Blue mountains of Provence

I took a very early morning walk up and up and up a winding mountain road above Mouans Sartoux, Provence, France. The view from the top was spectacular with soft blue hills fading off into the distance. This is about 30 minutes north of Cannes.

On a recent trip to Geneva really enjoyed the spring flowers in the garden of a friend. The colors in the early morning light were vibrant.

Golden Ceiling Mosaic - Istanbul

Istanbul is a treasure trove of mosques, bazaars, ancient and modern sights and sounds. This tiny pavilion is a jewel of golden mosaic in an ablutions fountain near the Blue Mosque.

Gaddani Shapes and Colors

The colors, shapes, patterns and play of light and color are wonderful at Gaddani beach. From the tall cliffs to the tiniest details in the tide pools there is much to see and explore.
